Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) actively participated in the Association of Young Entrepreneurs (HIPMI) for Higher Education Institutions across South Sumatra on Wednesday (August 5).
The inauguration was presided over by South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru at the OJK Office for South Sumatra Province in Palembang on Wednesday (August 5, 2026).
Herman Deru presence represents the South Sumatra Provincial Government’s tangible support for strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem among the younger generation, particularly college students. Through the Sultan Muda program, the South Sumatra Provincial Government continues to foster the development of young people who excel academically and are capable of creating jobs through innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit.
“College students are a vital asset who must be prepared to become resilient entrepreneurs so they can meet the economic challenges of the future,” said Herman Deru.
He hopes that the newly inaugurated HIPMI Higher Education leadership will serve as a driving force for fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship on every campus in South Sumatra. “This organization must be able to foster the emergence of young entrepreneurs who are creative, adaptable, and competitive,” said Herman Deru.
Through this series of events, it is hoped that more students in South Sumatra will be encouraged to start businesses early on, thereby strengthening the regional economy. “It is this spirit of collaboration that will accelerate the emergence of competitive young entrepreneurs from universities across South Sumatra,” he concluded.
