The Ministry of Population and Family Development/National Population and Family Planning Agency (Kemendukbangga/BKKBN) of the Republic of Indonesia has partnered with the Faculty of Medicine (FK) at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) on the Quality Family Village (Kampung KB) program to improve the quality of education and public health outreach in the city of Palembang.
This collaboration targets the Gandus neighborhood, which still lacks adequate health facilities for its residents.
During a meeting with the management of the Palembang Quality Family Planning Village, Universitas Indo Global Mandiri is expected to provide health education and counseling to residents in the Gandus Family Planning Village area.
This activity also serves as a field practice opportunity for students while helping to raise health awareness among the local community. Furthermore, this counseling is not merely a formality, but a concrete effort to bring medical knowledge closer to residents in need.
The “Kampung KB” itself is defined as a village-level administrative unit that integrates the empowerment and strengthening of family institutions to improve the quality of human resources, families, and communities.
As a universal development approach, the “Kampung Keluarga Berkualitas” initiative is encouraged to be implemented in every village and urban ward to optimize the comprehensive strengthening of family institutions. (andhiko ta)
