The Institutional Affairs Directorate of the Directorate General of Higher Education conducted a field evaluation regarding the proposed integration of religious studies programs from the Indo Global Mandiri College of Sharia Economics and Business (STEBIS) into Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) on Friday (May 8).
The event, which took place both online and in-person in the Third-Floor Auditorium of Universitas Indo Global Mandiri, marked a crucial step for the Indo Global Mandiri Foundation in aligning the educational institutional structure under its umbrella.

The Chairman of the IGM Foundation, M. Fadhiel Alie, B.I.T., M.T.I., stated that this integration is a strategic step to strengthen the institution’s foundation in facing future academic challenges. “We are optimistic that this merger will provide a significant boost of new energy to propel IGM forward and make it more competitive,” he said.

The assessment team, consisting of Dr. Heri Fathurahman, M.Si., Prof. Dr. Euphrasia Susy Suhendra, M.Si., S.Si., and Prof. Dr. Fransiscus Xaverius Sumarja, S.H., M.Hum., provided a number of technical recommendations to ensure that the integration process proceeds in accordance with national quality standards. The evaluation covered administrative aspects and the readiness of the infrastructure that will support the religious studies program once it is officially under the university’s umbrella.

Eka Endang, a representative of LLDIKTI Region II, emphasized the importance of objectivity in this assessment so that the merger would truly have a positive impact on the higher education ecosystem in South Sumatra. “It is hoped that this evaluation will provide an objective picture of the development of students’ intellectual capacity through a more solid organizational structure,” she stated.
This merger process is part of efforts to restructure higher education institutions to create more efficient and integrated governance within the IGM Foundation. “This step is a manifestation of our dedication to promoting the comprehensive advancement of national education through the strengthening of credible institutions,” he concluded.
