Career English Scholarship Opportunities Are Now Open to Teachers and Students at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri

The Regional English Language Office (RELO), in collaboration with ACCES, held a Teacher and Participant Info Day titled “Discover the ACCES Career English Program” in the Third-Floor Auditorium of Building B on the Sudirman Campus of Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM).

This event served as an opportunity to introduce the program to prospective participants, teachers, and academics from six regions. “We want young people to know that this opportunity is real and open to them,” said IIEF Program Coordinator Dwiki Prasetio.

This program, he continued, is intended for residents of Natuna, Palembang, Samarinda, Palu, Sorong, and Singaraja. According to him, the ACCES Career English Program is a scholarship funded by the RELO at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta and administered by the Indonesia International Education Foundation (IIEF).

“This scholarship was created so that geographical distance does not become a barrier to growth,” said Dwiki.

Dwiki explained that ACCES Career English (ACE) is a one-year English-language career and leadership development program for young people aged 19 to 27. English is used as a practical tool. Participants are guided through projects and professional engagement to strengthen their skills, expand their networks, and build a portfolio of original work.

“English here is not the end goal, but rather a tool for creating work,” he said.

The program is open to four groups: second-year college students; young professionals and public-sector professionals; entrepreneurs and creative economy practitioners; and young teachers and English teachers. “Anyone with a passion for learning and a desire to level up has an equal opportunity,” Dwiki emphasized.

Meanwhile, IIEF Program Assistant Fairuz Mahdiyyah encouraged students at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri to take advantage of this opportunity. “Don’t wait until you feel perfectly ready—just go ahead and try applying,” she concluded. (andhiko ta)
