The “2026 aku gegym” team from Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) won first place in the Student category at the 2026 Sriwijaya Cyber Security Competition (SCSC).
This national cybersecurity competition, based on the Capture The Flag (CTF) format, challenged participants from various universities to solve various digital puzzles and exploit systems to accumulate the highest points on the leaderboard.
This outstanding achievement was made possible thanks to the intensive guidance of UIGM Information Systems Program faculty members Ferdiansyah, M.Kom., Ph.D., CEH, and Tasmi, S.Si., M.Kom. “This success proves that our students’ technical skills are capable of competing fiercely at the national level,” said Ferdiansyah on Wednesday (June 10).
The victory of the team led by Imam Nur Rohman (Information Systems), M. Raffi Maulana Yusuf (Information Systems), and Reidho Satria (Computer Science) was not achieved overnight.
Before the competition began, they routinely conducted weekly independent training through the CTFtime platform and delved into crucial topics such as web exploitation, cryptography, forensics, reverse engineering, pwn, and OSINT. The readiness of digital infrastructure—including laptops, internet connections, mapping of supporting tools, and a solid division of roles—was the key to their speed in cracking the secret codes.
“We rigorously analyze case simulations every week to ensure the team is prepared to handle tricky questions on competition day,” he said.
This groundbreaking achievement at the top of the SCSC 2026 scoreboard underscores UIGM students’ ability to master cyber security mitigation tactics and vulnerability analysis. “This championship title validates months of hard work and serves as valuable preparation for us to enter the field as professional cyber security practitioners,” he concluded.
