The highlight of the Open Campus celebration marking the 18th anniversary of Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) in 2026 turned into a lively mini-concert.
A boisterous atmosphere immediately filled the stage area as The Teachers Band took the stage and took their places behind their instruments.
This unique band is led by a talented collaboration of teachers from the Indo Global Mandiri Foundation: Hendy Hidayat on bass, Benni Panjaitan on keyboard, Hafiz Rizwandi on backing vocals, M. Ihsan on guitar, Roni Utoyo on violin, Septian on drums, and Alberto Dwinata on lead vocals.
This group of dedicated educators from IGM Plus Elementary School, IGM LTI Middle School, and IGM LTI High School briefly set aside their formal teaching attire to deliver an epic musical performance for the thousands of visitors who packed the event venue.
The performance opened with an energetic drumbeat that immediately sparked excitement among the audience in the front rows. The first song performed instantly heated up the atmosphere with the popular track “Alamak,” followed by the up-tempo number “Kita Kesana,” which had the crowd swaying.
The warm interaction between vocalist Alberto and the audience blurred the line between teacher and student that night. The atmosphere became even more electric and emotional when the strumming of an acoustic guitar accompanied the song “Sesi Potret,” a composition that prompted the audience to turn on their phone flashlights, creating a serene nighttime scene.
The pounding guitar distortion then reignited the crowd’s enthusiasm with the song “Tak Ada Ujungnya,” in which the bassist and drummer collaborated to provide a steady rhythm that had the audience jumping in unison as they enjoyed the music.
As the finale, The Teachers Band performed “Everything You Are” with a grand arrangement full of striking guitar melodies.
All the audience members seemed to be swept up in the thunderous mass chorus, singing along until the song ended. The success of this performance proved that the teachers at IGM are not only skilled at imparting knowledge in the classroom but also possess extraordinary artistic talent on the big stage.
Loud applause and cheers of appreciation from the audience, who were reluctant to leave, bore witness to the success of this mini-concert, which both entertained and strengthened the bond among the entire foundation family. “We wanted to show that creative expression knows no bounds, and that music is the best language to unite all of our positive energy tonight,” said the drummer, Septian.
