Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) hosted the Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) Bujang Gadis Talk Show, Season 4, on the fifth floor of the UIGM Theater Building on Saturday, September 19.
The event, titled “From Dream to Reality: Turning Your Passion into Your Future,” featured Dita Chantika Dharma, Indonesia’s Maritime Ambassador for 2025.
In his presentation, she emphasized that discovering one’s dreams is a long process. According to her, dreams provide direction, while concrete actions bring a person closer to that goal. “Dreams provide direction, but it’s the small steps I take every day that have brought me to this point,” she said.
She also reminded participants that failure doesn’t mean the end of everything. Passion alone, she continued, isn’t enough if it isn’t accompanied by concrete action. “Stopping trying—that’s when you’ve truly lost,” she asserted.
Dita added that while opportunities are indeed important, it is one’s own readiness that determines how a person makes the most of them. “Opportunities come only once, but only those who are ready can seize them,” she said.
She advised participants not to demand perfection from the start, as long as they continue to strive to improve themselves. “What matters isn’t perfection, but consistently moving forward,” she said.
At the end of the session, Dita encouraged all participants—whether they had previously taken part in a similar event or were planning to do so—not to give up, even if the journey toward their dreams felt difficult, as long as those dreams were truly meaningful to them. “As long as it’s still meaningful, don’t let fatigue defeat your dreams,” she concluded.
