The rector of Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM), Dr. H. Marzuki Alie, urged the incoming class of 2026 to make the most of their educational opportunities while attending college.
According to him, not all young people are fortunate enough to have the chance to pursue higher education.
Marzuki emphasized that good character and morality are essential. He also expressed his hope that Universitas IGM students would possess integrity and a professional attitude to compete in the workforce.
“How to become a successful person. How to apply the knowledge gained during college. That’s what matters most,” he said, addressing thousands of new students.
Not only that, but he also hopes that Indo Global Mandiri students will develop the ability to become entrepreneurs. “Create job opportunities. So don’t just look for a job. If we—especially Universitas IGM alumni—are able to create our own jobs, that is the most noble thing in this world,” he explained.
The founder of the Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) Foundation also asked IGM students to draft a roadmap to ensure they become successful during their four years of college and go on to become successful entrepreneurs. “I’m giving you three months from now,” he said.
He added that Universitas Indo Global Mandiri truly prioritizes students who have strong abilities and academic achievements but lack sufficient financial support.
“We provide scholarships based on the opportunities available. There are many young people in this country who come from low-income families but have the potential and the desire to learn,” he concluded (Andhiko Tungga Alam)
