Hundreds of prospective freshmen at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) went through the administrative paperwork process, interviews, and written tests to qualify for the KIP Kuliah scholarship on Tuesday (June 30).
All of these stages were conducted separately in several rooms prepared by the organizing committee.

During the interview stage, each prospective student is required to attend with a parent or guardian. Before the selection committee, they are asked about their daily lives, their parents’ occupations, their interest in their intended program of study, and their reasons for choosing UIGM as their university of choice.
“We want to ensure that their circumstances truly match what is stated in their application documents,” said M Fajriansyah, S.Kom., M.Kom., Coordinator of the KIP Kuliah Student Selection at UIGM.

He noted that the interview stage with parents is a crucial step in ensuring that the assistance goes to those who are truly eligible. He emphasized that this process cannot be carried out unilaterally without involving the families of prospective recipients. “The presence of parents helps us assess their economic situation more comprehensively,” he said.
Fajriansyah added that the entire selection process was designed to be as rigorous as possible to ensure that KIP Kuliah recipients are accurately targeted and align with the government’s program objectives.
He hopes this process will result in scholarship recipients who are truly deserving and in need. “Accurate targeting is the main principle we uphold in this selection process,” he concluded. (andhiko ta)
