The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) is holding a Refreshing Camp.
The five-day event, scheduled for September 7–11, is designed to enhance the education of students in the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri, Prof. Dr. Chairil Anwar, DAP&E, SpParK, Ph.D., stated that this event serves as essential preparation for students before they enter the next stage of their education.

The Refreshing Camp featured a variety of topics, including a review of the vision, mission, goals, and objectives (VMTS), the curriculum, and preparation for the professional program’s coursework. In addition, students were provided with guidance on how to search for relevant scientific articles and on critical appraisal techniques for drawing conclusions.
“The ability to critically analyze scientific literature is the foundation for medical students in making clinical decisions,” he said while opening the event in the 6th-floor auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine building.

Other topics covered included critical thinking, clinical judgment, and clinical reasoning, as well as how to create scientific presentations and posters. Students also received training on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical education, including related policies, scientific writing techniques, and citation management. “The use of AI must be accompanied by a clear understanding of ethics and policies to prevent its misuse in academic processes,” he said.

The activities also included information sessions on Student Counseling and Guidance (BKM), procedures and the process for writing a thesis, as well as material on stress management and mental health for students. A number of other supporting activities were also held throughout the Refreshing Camp.
“Students’ mental health is just as important as their academic readiness in pursuing a medical education,” he concluded. (andhiko ta)
