The Vice Rector III of Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) in Palembang, Dr. Tien Yustini, S.E., M.Si., served as a Special Guest at the 2nd International Conference on Global Business & Digital Economy (ICGLOBDE) 2026 at the Seri Pacific Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on September 29–30, 2026.
The professor from the Faculty of Economics was there to discuss global business challenges and the adaptability of MSME entrepreneurs. “Business owners can no longer rely on old ways of doing business,” she said before the conference participants.

This conference brought together academics, practitioners, and business leaders to exchange ideas on the digital economic transformation. The forum also highlighted the opportunities and risks of the rapidly changing business world.
“Changes in the business environment are now moving much faster than many business leaders are prepared for,” said Tien.
In his presentation titled “Global Business Challenges and Opportunities, A Comparison of Market Participants’ (SMEs) Adaptability, and Global Policies in Indonesia and Malaysia,” Tien outlined the impact of technological changes, international market dynamics, consumer behavior, and economic policies on SMEs. “Each of these changes determines whether small businesses will survive or actually grow,” she said.

According to him, MSMEs need to innovate, leverage digital technology, understand consumer behavior, and expand market access. “MSMEs are not only required to survive in the face of change, but must also be able to seize opportunities arising from digital transformation and the global market,” he concluded.
