ICGLOBDE 2026: Universitas Indo Global Mandiri Strengthens Its Academic Network Through an International Forum

Dr. Tien Yustini, S.E., M.Si., Vice Rector III of Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM), believes that Indonesia and Malaysia have the opportunity to strengthen their collaboration in the development of MSMEs.

She made this statement at the 2nd International Conference on Global Business & Digital Economy (ICGLOBDE) 2026 at the Seri Pacific Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on September 29–30, 2026. “These two countries have significant potential to grow together,” she said.

In her presentation, she compared the adaptability of SME actors in both countries, including the global policy context that affects the business world. According to her, the SME ecosystems in Indonesia and Malaysia differ, but cooperation can still be established, particularly in capacity building, marketing digitization, enhancing human resource competencies, and expanding market access.

“Differences in character can actually complement one another,” she said.

She noted that collaboration among the government, universities, the business sector, and the MSME community is necessary to build an ecosystem that supports adaptation and innovation. Universities, he continued, play a role not only through research but also by providing guidance and training to business owners through community service. “Universities must get directly involved in the field, not just in the classroom,” he emphasized.

His appearance as a Special Guest is also part of Universitas IGM efforts to expand its academic network and promote internationalization. This participation opens opportunities for collaboration with institutions and stakeholders in Malaysia and internationally. The discussions during the conference are expected to provide new perspectives on education, research, and community service on campus.

“Forums like this enable us to prepare graduates who are adaptable and globally competitive,” he concluded. (andhiko ta)
