UIGM – SMKN 1 Tanjung Lago Sign MoU to Accelerate Vocational Education Synergy in South Sumatra

Indo Global Mandiri University (UIGM) and SMKN 1 Tanjung Lago signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday (11/26).

This strategic partnership aims to strengthen synergy between higher education institutions and vocational high schools in an effort to improve the quality of learning and the competence of students in South Sumatra. It is hoped that this collaboration can serve as a bridge between the world of education and industry.

The MoU covers several key points. First, providing opportunities for vocational school students to develop their skills through internships, practicums, public lectures, workshops, and career guidance activities. Second, it supports the improvement of teacher capacity through training, seminars, knowledge sharing, and technological or scientific assistance by UIGM lecturers or practitioners. Third, it encourages applied research collaboration and community service that can be carried out jointly by UIGM lecturers and vocational school teachers.

The Principal of SMKN 1 Tanjung Lago, Suparjo, S.Pd., M.Pd., said that this MoU will be a strategic step to align learning in vocational schools with technological developments and the industrial world. He sees this collaboration as a great opportunity for students and teachers to get the latest updates on science and practice.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector III for Cooperation at Indo Global Mandiri University, Dr. Tien Yustini, S.E., M.Si, said that UIGM is fully committed to supporting the improvement of education quality in South Sumatra through strategic cooperation with vocational schools. She hopes that this collaboration will have a real impact on human resource development in the region.
