The English Language Study Program, Faculty of Government and Cultural Sciences (FIPB) at Indo Global Mandiri University initiated a Teaching Practitioner and Workshop.
The event discussed the importance of teachers adapting to the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly in designing standardized English language learning plans.

Haris Hasriadi, M.Pd, Deputy Head of Public Relations at SMA N 01 Pangkalan Lampam, said that the Merdeka Curriculum, which provides flexibility, is expected to encourage teachers to continue innovating and not hesitate in the process of transferring knowledge amid technological developments and the needs of today’s students. “This curriculum is essentially an optimal framework for exploring concepts and strengthening student competencies,” he said.

He explained in depth the essence of the Independent Curriculum, which is an improvement on the previous curriculum with a focus on essential material and the development of the Pancasila Student Profile character. According to him, the success of the implementation of this curriculum is highly dependent on the mentality of teachers in the field. He encouraged educators to be open and proactive in the teaching and learning process.
“Teachers should not feel the slightest bit of embarrassment in sharing their knowledge or trying new things in the classroom, because openness is the foundation of self-improvement,” she said.

The Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Language Education (FIPB) at IGM University, Dr. Doris Febriyanti, M.Si, believes that initiatives such as the ‘Teacher Teaching Program’ and similar training activities are important platforms for the transfer of knowledge and learning that is relevant to the current context.
“Strong commitment and effective communication among educators are essential to deliver interactive learning practices that truly resonate with today’s generation,” she concluded. (andhiko ta)
