The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) held a three-day orientation and Campus Life Introduction Program for New Students (PKKMB) 2026, from Tuesday through Thursday (September 15–17), in the UIGM Faculty of Medicine Auditorium.
This event was attended by all new students in the medical program as part of the initial orientation process for their studies.

The Dean of the UIGM Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Chairil Anwar, DAP&E, SpPark, Ph.D., explained that this orientation program includes an introduction to the facilities and infrastructure that new students can utilize during their medical education. “Students need to familiarize themselves first with the facilities they will use throughout their studies,” he said.
In addition to the facility tour, new students also receive technical guidance on writing scientific papers, self-directed learning tutorials, presentation techniques, public speaking, and communication skills. This material is provided to prepare students for the teaching methods at the medical school, which emphasize independent learning. “Communication skills and scientific writing are essential foundational skills that must be mastered from the very beginning,” he said.

This event also introduced the problem-based learning method and explained the grading system in place at the UIGM Faculty of Medicine, so that students could understand the learning model they will follow in the future. “Familiarizing students with the learning and grading systems from the very beginning will make it easier for them to adapt,” he concluded.
