The Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) of South Sumatra Province held an Architects’ Talk Show and a Sketching Contest on Saturday (August 15) on the first floor of Building B at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM).
The event was attended by architects, students, and members of the general public interested in architecture.
The event was conceived as a space for sharing ideas and a platform for showcasing creativity in the field of architecture. Participants were not only invited to engage in discussions through talk show sessions but also to compete by sketching their ideas on-site.
The talk show features discussions on developments in the world of architecture, ranging from the academic perspective to its practical application. The discussion aims to broaden the participants’ horizons, particularly those of students currently pursuing a degree in architecture.
Meanwhile, the Sketching Competition serves as a competitive platform for participants to showcase their visual skills and creativity in quickly and spontaneously designing architectural concepts. Participants’ works are judged on the spot by a panel of judges who are experts in their fields. This competition hones architects’ sensitivity and quick thinking as they translate their ideas into drawings. (Andhiko Ta)
