The Academic Administration Office of Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) held a Workshop on Training and Aligning Perspectives for Assessors of Prior Learning Recognition (RPL) on Friday, August 14, 2026, in the UIGM Theater.
The event, held ahead of the opening of the new student admission process through the PLR scheme at UIGM, was based on the Director General of Higher Education’s Decree No. 112/B/KPT/2025 regarding Technical Guidelines for the Recognition of Prior Learning at Higher Education Institutions.

According to UIGM’s First Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Lastri Widya Astuti, S.Kom., M.Kom., this activity is considered important given the need for a shared understanding among prospective evaluators. In her view, this is key to ensuring that the RPL evaluation process proceeds in an objective, transparent, and accountable manner.

Three speakers from the Higher Education Service Agency (LLDIKTI) Region II took turns presenting their material. The first session was led by Marce Lay, M.A., Chair of the LLDIKTI Region II Learning and Student Affairs Working Group, who outlined the policies and guidelines for RPL—ranging from the legal basis and principles governing Type A RPL, requirements for participating study programs, mechanisms for credit transfer and acquisition, to the reporting process via the SIERRA system.

The next session was presented by Ir. Christofora Desi K., M.T., IPM., who discussed the RPL assessment process in more technical detail: assessment principles such as validity, reliability, fairness, flexibility, transparency, recognition, and continuous improvement.
She also explained the procedures for credit transfer, the preparation of the Self-Evaluation Form, and the principles for verifying supporting documents, known as VATM—Valid, Authentic, Up-to-Date, and Adequate. The session concluded with a simulation of portfolio assessment and follow-up assessment, conducted through oral, written, and performance-based evaluations.

The final session featured Zulfikar, who trained participants on how to use the SIERRA application—the Academic RPL e-Recommendation System managed by the Directorate General of Higher Education—for reporting and verifying documents related to the implementation of RPL. (andhiko ta)
