A total of 143 students from the Faculty of Economics at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) were officially welcomed back after completing the 2026 National Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) in Pesawaran Regency, Lampung, on Saturday (August 1).
The program, which began on July 13, marked the end of the students’ 20-day community service initiative.
The Secretary of the Gedung Tataan Subdistrict, Pesawaran Regency, Rahmadi Lestari, SH, expressed his appreciation for the presence of the KKN students in his area throughout the program. “Hopefully, what the students have been doing all this time will truly benefit the village community,” he said.
The hundreds of students were divided into nine groups and assigned to nine villages: Cipadang, Sukaraja, Taman Sari, Way Layap, Bagelen, Kebagusan, Kutoharjo, Gedung Tataan, and Karanganyar. All groups adopted the overarching theme “Smart Village for Achieving the SDGs,” with a focus on the digitalization of village-based small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Each group had clear work objectives, ranging from mentoring SMEs to strengthening the villages’ potential.
Meanwhile, Iwan Kurniawan, Executive Chair of the UIGM Faculty of Economics’ Community Service Program (KKN), expressed his hope that this initiative would bring tangible benefits to both the students and the faculty. He emphasized the importance of the students’ contributions in driving the digitalization of MSMEs in their assigned villages.
“The experiences and camaraderie gained during the Community Service Program will always be part of students’ learning journey. Furthermore, the programs that have been implemented must have a real impact, both on students’ personal development and on the economic progress of the village,” he concluded. (Andhiko Ta)
