Seven students from the Management Program at Indo Global Mandiri University (IGM) participated in a three-week International Community Service Program (KKN) in Malaysia.
Two major universities served as the primary destinations for this International CSL program. The initiative began at Multimedia Malacca University (MMU) in Malacca, focusing on collaborative research, student exchange, and community service, aimed at equipping students with global experience and broader perspectives.

Vice Rector III for Planning and Cooperation, Dr. Dr. Hj. Tien Yustini, M.S., explained that this International CSL program is an implementation of the existing cooperation agreement. She emphasized the importance of research collaboration and knowledge exchange between universities.

“Students are focusing on collaborative research between the Faculty of Economics at UIGM and the Faculty of Business at MMU. Additionally, we are conducting student exchanges, particularly in the management program, where our students are presenting their research proposal plans,” she said.

Following a series of academic activities, the students also participated in community service activities with Suci Foundation in Malacca. During this initiative, they observed firsthand how local SMEs are developed and nurtured. Additionally, this international community service program was followed by a five-day benchmarking activity at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), before concluding with community service activities in Johor. The seven students involved were from the concentrations of Human Resource Management (HRM), Marketing, and Finance.
Through this International Community Service Program, Tien added, the students are expected to gain deep insights and valuable experiences. They not only learn in the classroom but also witness best practices firsthand in the field, both from SME practitioners and campus activities in Malaysia.

“It is hoped that through the International Community Service Program, students can gain insights from the activities carried out by SME practitioners and also the campus there, as a comparison to what we do here. This is a good opportunity to see campus facilities and community service activities as a learning experience for us,” she concluded. (andhiko ta)
