The Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) held a meeting with officials from the Kalidoni Subdistrict and the Sungai Lais Village Office on Tuesday (August 12).
The meeting discussed collaborative efforts to address stunting, malnutrition, and a number of other health issues still prevalent in the local area. This meeting marked the first step toward establishing concrete cooperation between academics and subdistrict officials.

During the meeting, both parties agreed to develop a stunting prevention program through nutrition education for pregnant women and toddlers, as well as regular public health monitoring. The program is planned to involve medical students as part of their community service practice.
Kalidoni Subdistrict Head M. Rama Cahya Putra, S.S.T.P., M.M., welcomed the proposed collaboration and noted that the involvement of academics could accelerate efforts to address health issues in his area. He expressed hope that the program would directly target those in need, particularly in the Sungai Lais neighborhood. “This is the kind of collaboration we need to reduce stunting rates in our area,” he said.

The head of the Sungai Lais village is also ready to facilitate data collection and activity scheduling in collaboration with a team from the Univeristas IGM of Medicine. Follow-up actions from the meeting will be discussed at the next technical meeting to determine the program’s location and target audience. “We will prepare resident data to ensure this program reaches its intended audience,” he concluded.
