The Faculty of Computer Science and Science at Indo Global Mandiri University (IGM) held a Workshop on Improving Higher Education Quality on Thursday (February 5). This strategic step was taken to ensure that education within the campus environment meets strict and competitive quality standards.

Education expert and workshop speaker Prof. Ir. Zainal Arifin Hasibuan, M.L.S., Ph.D., encouraged participants to understand institutional management mechanisms in order to achieve superior academic quality standards and strong competitiveness at the national and international levels.
“The quality of an educational institution greatly depends on the extent to which the synergy between administration and academics works together in maintaining the established standards,” said Prof. Zainal Arifin.

In his presentation, Prof. Zainal highlighted the importance of strengthening the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI) as the main foundation. In addition, the workshop material also covered the development of a curriculum based on learning outcomes or Outcome Based Education (OBE). This curriculum transformation is considered urgent so that graduates truly have competencies that are relevant to the current needs of industry.
“This workshop must serve as a turning point for us to pursue continuous improvement in order to maintain public trust in the quality of education we offer,” he concluded. (andhiko ta)
