Legal Vision Summit Discusses Collaboration and Innovation in the Legal World in the Digital Age

Indo Global Mandiri University (IGM) held the Legal Vision Summit in the form of workshops, curriculum seminars, and cross-professional legal collaborations on Tuesday (7/9).

This event served as a forum for academics, practitioners, and stakeholders in the legal field to discuss the direction of legal education development in the digital age.

A number of competent speakers were present at the event to deliver presentations, including Bambang Harianto, SH, MH; Dr. H Abdul Mujib, M.Ag; Dr. H Chandra Satria, SE; Dr. Waldi Nopriansyah; and Ahmad Widad Muntazhor, SH, MH. The speakers shared their insights on the challenges and opportunities for legal education amid the ongoing digital transformation.

One of the keynote speakers, Dr. H Abdul Mujib, M.Ag, who is also a BAN-PT Assessor and Chair of the Study Program Association and Sharia Law Lecturer, emphasized the importance of the legal world adapting to technological developments. According to him, the business and public service sectors have now undergone significant changes due to digitalization. “Technology has changed the transaction patterns and social behavior of modern society,” said Abdul Mujib.

He added that these changes require legal practitioners, both academics and practitioners, to understand digital dynamics so as not to be left behind by the times. The phenomenon of a cashless society, for example, is now evidence that economic and legal systems must adapt quickly.

“We cannot reject change, but we must prepare ourselves to face it,” he said.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector III of IGM University, Dr. Dr. Hj. Tien Yustini, M.Si, said that activities such as this are important to explore the aspirations and input from various parties. According to her, study programs need to listen to the needs of stakeholders so that the direction of curriculum development is in line with the demands of the world of work and legal professionals.

“Study programs must be open to external aspirations in order to improve the quality of graduates,” she said.

Tien added that cross-institutional and cross-professional collaboration is key to success in facing changes in the legal world. She hopes that the established cooperation will not stop at the signing of a memorandum of understanding, but will be realized in concrete actions that have an impact. “We don’t just want an MoU, but also concrete implementation,” she concluded.
