The Sharia Business Management (MBS) Study Program at Indo Global Mandiri University (UIGM) through the MBSpreneur Hub held a training activity entitled “Ecocraft Life Skill: Making Bags Based on Ecoprint and Natural Materials” on Friday (31/10).
The Head of the Sharia Business Management Study Program at UIGM, Doly Nofiansyah, M.Si, said that the activity aimed to foster a spirit of sustainable entrepreneurship. “Through this Ecocraft Life Skill activity, we want to instill a spirit of green entrepreneurship in students — how to create products that are not only marketable but also support nature conservation,” said Doly at the BKOW South Sumatra Women’s Building.

According to him, this training focused on the use of natural materials with high economic value, teaching basic ecoprint techniques and the process of making bags with an eco-friendly concept. Participants were given direct guidance, emphasizing creativity and concern for the environment. Thus, they were not only taught technical skills, but also the philosophy behind environmentally friendly products.

He said that this activity is one of the implementations of Project-Based Learning. He views this training as an important platform for students to hone their practical skills in the field of creative business based on sharia and the environment.
This activity is also expected to produce a young generation that is innovative, ethical, and capable of developing businesses based on local wisdom. The participants’ works, in the form of ecoprint bags, were displayed in a mini exhibition session as a form of appreciation and motivation to continue creating.

This exhibition also serves as tangible proof of the creative potential of the participants after undergoing intensive training. With the implementation of this activity, MBSpreneur Hub reaffirms its commitment to encouraging UIGM Sharia Business Management students to become creative and globally competitive entrepreneurs, while remaining grounded in the values of sustainability and Islam.
“We aim to cultivate a young generation that is not only innovative but also ethical and capable of developing businesses rooted in local wisdom and Sharia values,” he concluded. (andhiko ta)
