Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) sent off 143 students from the Faculty of Economics to participate in the 2026 National Thematic Community Service Program (KKN) in Pesawaran Regency, Lampung, on Monday (July 13).
The send-off was led by UIGM Rector Dr. H. Marzuki Alie after all participants attended a preparatory briefing. “Show that UIGM students are good students, both intellectually and emotionally intelligent,” said the Rector.

The hundreds of students were divided into nine groups and assigned to nine villages: Cipadang, Sukaraja, Taman Sari, Way Layap, Bagelen, Kebagusan, Kutoharjo, Gedung Tataan, and Karanganyar. The Community Service Program (KKN) will run for 20 days under the theme “Smart Village for Achieving the SDGs” alongside the digitalization of village-based small and medium enterprises (SMEs). “Students must be able to provide solutions and play a key role in addressing the issues facing the community, rather than becoming a new burden on the villages,” said the Rector.

The rector also asked students to ensure internet access is available at their KKN sites and to monitor the village’s progress after the program concludes. According to him, publicizing these activities is important so that villagers can also benefit from greater exposure of their area.

“Working together in a cohesive and united manner will determine the success of the program in the field,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, Iwan Kurniawan, Executive Chair of the UIGM Faculty of Economics’ Community Service Program (KKN), expressed his hope that this initiative would bring tangible benefits to both the students and the faculty. He emphasized the importance of the students’ contributions in driving the digitalization of MSMEs in their assigned villages. “This program must truly make an impact, both for the students’ personal development and for the economic progress of the villages,” he concluded.
