Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) sent off 143 students participating in the 2026 National Community Service Program (KKN) to Pesawaran Regency, Lampung, on Monday (July 13).
The participants, divided into nine groups, will carry out the 20-day program under the theme “Smart Village for Achieving the SDGs Together: Upgrading Village MSMEs Through Digitalization, Strengthening the National Economy.”
Dr. H. Chandra Satria, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at UIGM, said that the KKN program is a form of field study that must provide tangible benefits to the community.

According to him, every student must understand the program’s objectives and outcomes before heading out into the field. “Students must know exactly what they will be offering to the community; they shouldn’t go to the villages without a clear direction,” he said during the National Community Service Program (KKN) Orientation for the Faculty of Economics at Universitas IGM on Friday (July 10).

Chandra added that the program’s success depends heavily on thorough planning and good practices in the field. He emphasized that the entire KKN program is part of the students’ academic evaluation during its implementation. “Thorough planning and proper execution are the keys to this program’s success,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Iwan Kurniawan, Executive Chair of the Faculty of Economics’ 2026 National Community Service Program (KKN), hopes the initiative will drive the digitalization of rural MSMEs and accelerate the achievement of SDG targets in Pesawaran Regency. He is optimistic that the collaboration between students and the community can strengthen the local economy. “We want the community to truly feel the benefits of this program—not just see it as a mere university formality,” he concluded.
