The Visual Communication Design (VCD) Program at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) held an exhibition of students’ final projects titled “Chromatica Visual.”
This event is a regular academic activity held at the end of the even semester of the 2025–2026 academic year, in which 40 senior students participated from July 14 to 16.

The Head of the Visual Communication Design Program at UIGM, Husni Mubarat, S.Sn., M.Sn., explained that the “Chromatica Visual” theme addresses the concept of chroma—or color—which has many variations and subtypes. According to him, this theme is integrated with local wisdom, social issues, the environment, and even health. “We understand that color has many variations and types that can be linked to various issues,” he said.

The works on display feature a variety of media and concepts, ranging from an introduction to iwak lais, Lingau palm sugar, and the Sriwijaya archaeological park to jumputan textiles, which hold historical and cultural significance in South Sumatra. In addition, a number of students also explored health and social themes in their works. “These works are rooted in local wisdom, MSMEs, and health, and can be brought back to the public’s attention,” he said.

Husni hopes this exhibition will elevate local culture to the international stage while also serving as a process for students to develop their creativity before entering the workforce. “Hopefully, this will be part of the process of helping students develop their creativity in creating innovative works,” he said.

Nur Yasin, Head of the Sriwijaya Royal Park UPTD, also expressed his full support for the event. He believes the exhibition provides a positive platform for students to showcase local cultural heritage through visual art. “This is our way of supporting the younger generation in promoting local culture,” he concluded.
