UIGM Hosts Youth Dialogue Studio to Discuss Youth Issues in South Sumatra

The Youth Dialogue Studio Palembang Chapter was held in the Third-Floor Auditorium of Building B at Indo Global Mandiri University (UIGM) on Saturday, July 4, 2026.

This event, which was part of the mini Youth Action Forum 6.0, brought together various organizations, associations, and communities from diverse fields across South Sumatra, ranging from literacy advocates to environmentalists and human rights activists.

The event featured three speakers: Dania, founder of suaramentari.id and an alumna of the Hello Sister Bootcamp; Rangga Akbar A, a community development practitioner and vice president of SSAAC; and Meta Rianti, CEO of WeLove4Earth and a Youth Action Forum 4.0 Fellow. “It is this kind of cross-background collaboration that strengthens the youth movement moving forward,” said Dania.

In his presentation, Rangga Akbar—who is also noted for—highlighted the differences in how Millennials and Generation Z view a forum.

“Millennials often attend forums but still wonder if they’ll gain new insights. Meanwhile, I see Generation Z as more critical; they’re reluctant to go anywhere unless there’s a guaranteed benefit that leads to a win-win solution—one example being the Youth Dialogue Studio here at UIGM,” he said.

After the presentation, the event continued with a dialogue and discussion session using colored sticky notes to divide participants into groups and address the sustainability challenges of youth-led initiatives. Participants were encouraged to become the next generation of the Youth Action Forum 6.0, taking home ideas to put into practice.

“The ideas born today shouldn’t stop in this room; they must keep moving forward until they’re fully realized,” he concluded. (Andhiko Ta)
