To Protect Students’ Health from Haze, Universitas Indo Global Mandiri Implements Online Classes

Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) switched from in-person to online classes on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. This decision was made in response to the haze and declining air quality in the city of Palembang.

Online classes will be held according to the schedules set by each faculty and academic program. Faculty and students will participate in classes through the designated or mutually agreed-upon media or platforms. As a result, class hours remain unchanged; only the delivery method has been shifted.

For lab sessions or classes that cannot be held online, the university will reschedule them. The new dates will be announced by the relevant faculty or academic program.

In addition to rescheduling classes, UIGM urges the entire academic community to minimize outdoor activities. Wearing a mask is recommended if outdoor activities cannot be avoided, as haze can cause breathing difficulties.

Information regarding future classes will be communicated through the university’s official channels. Students and faculty are asked to monitor these announcements so they do not miss the latest updates. (andhiko ta)
