To Streamline Student Organization Structures, UIGM Student Affairs Office Holds an Information Session on New Regulations

The Student Affairs Office at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) held an information session on the Guidelines for the Governance of Student Organizations for all representatives of Student Organizations (ORMAWA) in the Theater Room on the 5th floor of Building C at Universitas IGM on Monday (May 25).

The Head of the Student Affairs Office at Universitas IGM, Anta Astika, S.T., M.T., stated that these regulations were specifically designed to oversee the transition period from the Senate system to the Student Executive Board (BEM). “These rules must be understood so that the structural transition at the student level does not lead to a legal vacuum or conflicts of jurisdiction between institutions,” he said.

This event, attended by the executive boards of the Student Council (DPM), Student Executive Board (BEM), Student Association (HIMA), and Student Clubs (UKM), aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of organizational structure, administration, work programs, reporting, and organizational development.

He explained that these new guidelines represent a concrete step toward strengthening governance so that all student organizations have a clear direction and uniform administrative standards. The existence of these written regulations is also intended to boost the quality of student organizations as platforms for fostering professional leadership and character among students.

“We want to ensure that every activity designed by students has a clear, orderly, and uniform legal and administrative foundation across all levels,” he emphasized.

The event continued with an interactive discussion and Q&A session to gather feedback, questions, and direct responses from the student organization leaders in attendance. University officials considered the dynamic exchange during the forum crucial for refining the implementation of the regulations before they are fully enforced on campus.

He hopes that all student organizations will be able to execute their work programs in a more focused, transparent, and accountable manner, as well as act as strategic partners in boosting the university’s achievements. “We urge all new executives to immediately align their accountability report formats with the established standards,” he concluded.
