Tears and Stories of Struggle Color the Interview Process of Camaba Recipients of KIP Lecture at IGM University

Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) University has begun a rigorous selection process for hundreds of prospective new students.

After going through the initial filing stage, 217 prospective students are now entering the crucial interview and written test phase. This selection process not only aims to attract the best talent, but also identify potential recipients of the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) Lecture scholarship, as a form of UIGM’s commitment to supporting education.

KIP Lecture interview selection is one of the main focuses in this stage. IGM University strongly emphasizes verification of family conditions, parental income, and the economic situation of prospective students to ensure that the KIP Kuliah scholarship is truly given to those who are entitled.

“We also select the candidates who are entitled to get the KIP Lecture scholarship,” said Fajriansyah, S.Si, one of the selection committee, on the sidelines of the activity.

The selection process was spread over two floors of Building B at Sudirman Campus, namely Floor IV and Floor VI. In the interview process, the committee dug up information on family background and parents’ work. Not infrequently they told in as much detail as possible how the struggle of life, despite economic constraints, still wanted to provide the best education for their children.

In addition, the committee also explored the prospective students’ interest in the study program (prodi) they chose. This aims to ensure alignment between interests and study program choices, so that students can complete their studies on time with a good Grade Point Average (GPA).

“We ask about their family background, their parents’ occupation, and their interest in the study program they have chosen. Is it the right choice for the study program,” he said.

The selection process was divided into several batches. The first stage involved 120 people, followed by the second stage with 98 people, and will be conducted again in the third stage next week.

After the interview and written test stages, there will be another ranking to determine which prospective students pass. This selection schedule runs from June 19 to August 11. The announcement of the selection results will be informed through official groups and WhatsApp. “If these stages are passed, Aji continued, IGM University candidates are again required to take a written test whose schedule has been determined,” he concluded.
