To Broaden Their Academic Horizons, Students from SMKN 1 Tanjung Lago Visit IGM University

Indo Global Mandiri University (UIGM) hosted an educational visit from a group of students from SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Lago.

The visit focused on introducing the academic ecosystem and information technology facilities. The group, consisting of 11th-grade students majoring in Software Engineering (RPL), came to see firsthand the application of computer science at the higher education level.

The Head of the Software Engineering Program at SMKN 1 Tanjung Lago, Helmi Suhari, S.P., M.Pd., stated that this activity is part of a field study designed to provide students with a realistic picture of their future careers.

According to him, the presentation on the state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and learning systems at UIGM greatly motivated the students to raise their competency standards. The school also did not rule out the possibility of making IGM University a primary partner for its graduates to continue their education at the undergraduate level. “We want every student to have a clear vision that the coding and software development skills they are learning now have a highly capable development platform right here on this campus,” said Helmi.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector III of Indo Global Mandiri University, Dr. Tien Yustini, M.Si., encouraged the students to remain adaptable to the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

She emphasized that UIGM consistently maximizes its supporting facilities to produce top-tier graduates capable of competing in the global job market or becoming technopreneurs. “This industry visit serves as a gateway for students to understand that the world of information technology demands quick thinking and a never-ending learner’s mindset,” she concluded.
