The Rector of Indo Global Mandiri University, Dr. H Marzuki Alie, is optimistic that IGM University will soon realize its Architecture Professional Program in the near future.
The signing of the MoU-MoA with the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) is one of the first steps and requirements for the program, which has been in the works for the past year.
“We will soon prepare a proposal for the Director General of Higher Education,” he said after the signing.
Marzuki explained that, as architects, to obtain a license as an architect, they must complete a four-year undergraduate program, followed by a one- to one-and-a-half-year professional program, and a two-year internship. “Almost seven years. We provide the best education; if we don’t, our alumni won’t have certification,” he explained.
He assessed that the potential of IGM University students and alumni is significant. Architects are the architects of the future and must collaborate with various parties.
“Especially since we have already received an offer from the government to collaborate. We are facilitated with a Matching Fund with state-owned enterprises in Indonesia and linked to innovation. We hope that our lecturers can apply their knowledge to develop slum areas into better ones,” he concluded. (Andhiko Tungga Alam)
