Universitas Indo Global Mandiri
22 Mei 2008Indo Global Mandiri University (UIGM) is a higher education institution established on May 22, 2008, based on the Decree of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 83/D/O/2008. UIGM was born from the merger of two well-known colleges in Palembang, namely the College of Information Management and Computer Science (STMIK IGM) and the Palembang College of Technology (STTP). Since its inception, UIGM has continued to grow not only as a higher education institution but also as a center for progressive scientific development. UIGM has four main faculties: the Faculty of Computer Science, with study programs in Information Technology (S1), Information Systems (S1), Computer Engineering (D3), Information Management (D3), and Computerized Accounting (D3). Currently, Computer Engineering has been upgraded to a Bachelor of Computer Systems program, while Computerized Accounting has been discontinued in line with industry needs. The Faculty of Engineering, which offers programs in Civil Engineering (Bachelor's degree), Architecture (Bachelor's degree), Regional and Urban Planning (Bachelor's degree), and Surveying and Mapping (Diploma). The Faculty of Economics, which consists of Management (Bachelor's Degree) and Accounting (Bachelor's Degree). The Faculty of Government Studies, which oversees Visual Communication Design (Bachelor's Degree) and Government Studies (Bachelor's Degree).

English Language Education (S1)
25 Maret 2010The English Language Study Program was officially established in 2010. At the time of its establishment, this study program was under the auspices of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP). Its main mission at that time was to produce professional and integrity-driven human resources to fill and/or create job opportunities in the field of education. Currently, the English Language Study Program has been accredited as Excellent by the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT). We continue to innovate by integrating the latest technology into the teaching and learning process, facilitating international student exchange programs, and encouraging students to develop 21st-century skills. From this long history, we are proud to have produced human resources who have successfully pursued careers as diplomats, expert translators, journalists, academics, and professionals in various multinational companies.

Sekolah Tinggi Ekonomi dan Bisnis Syariah (STEBIS)
05 Mei 2014In 2014, STEBIS IGM emerged as the first sharia-based university in South Sumatra, born out of the IGM Foundation's commitment to respond to the rapid development of sharia financial institutions and the rise of the global Islamic economy. Amidst the increasing number of madrasas, Islamic boarding schools, and religious-based schools, the need for higher education that produces professional and skilled sharia economics experts has become increasingly urgent. STEBIS IGM was established to become an educational center capable of meeting these needs and fostering the emergence of a superior and competitive generation of sharia economists.

Master of Management
14 Agustus 2018Over time, with adjustments to national higher education regulations and input from industry stakeholders, this study program has undergone strategic changes. In 2018, through the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 650/KPT/1/2018, the name of the study program was officially adjusted and simplified to the Master of Management (MM) Study Program. This transformation reinforces our commitment to producing adaptive business leaders who are ready to face the challenges of the modern market with comprehensive managerial skills.

Occupational Safety and Health
08 November 2018With the rapid growth of industry in Indonesia, the need for OSH professionals is increasing. The high number of accidents and occupational diseases has highlighted the importance of effective risk management, especially with the legal basis provided by Law No. 1 of 1970 on Occupational Safety. Industries now demand OSH experts who not only comply with regulations but are also capable of improving operational efficiency and sustainability. In response to this need, UIGM officially launched the Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Occupational Safety and Health in 2018 as a commitment to producing competent and competitive OSH experts.

Faculty of Medicine
19 September 2024On September 8, 2021, IGM University held a medical education workshop with the South Sumatra Provincial Government and IDI, which resulted in a commitment to establish a Medical Study Program focused on wetland health excellence, especially water-related diseases. The Faculty of Medicine at IGM University was also present as a response to the urgent need for quality medical personnel in South Sumatra.

Master of Civil Engineering
5 Mei 2025Since its independence, Indonesia has needed civil engineers to build the physical foundations of the country. As projects have grown in complexity—from giant dams to modern mass transportation—there has been a need for experts with in-depth specializations and high-quality academics. The Master of Civil Engineering program has become crucial in supporting Indonesia's Golden 2045 vision and the development of disaster-resilient and environmentally friendly infrastructure. Recognizing this urgency, UIGM officially launched its Master of Civil Engineering program in 2025 to cultivate innovative leaders in the field of civil engineering.
