The Head of LLDIKTI Region II, Prof. Dr. Iskhaq Iskandar, M.Sc., delivered an address at the Open Senate Session for the 23rd Graduation Ceremony of Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) and the 9th Graduation Ceremony of STEBIS IGM, which took place on Saturday (2 May) at Graha Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) in Burlian, Palembang.
In his address, he highlighted the role of graduates as part of the educated community who bear a responsibility to support development. He noted that the presence of 321 graduates forms part of the higher education institution’s contribution to the intellectual development of the nation.

“Today’s graduates are part of the hope for contributing to the success of the nation’s development and the intellectual enrichment of its people,” he said.
He also emphasised that achieving a bachelor’s degree is the result of a long process that not everyone can complete. Therefore, the graduation ceremony is seen as something to be grateful for and celebrated.
“This journey has not been easy, as only a small proportion of the Indonesian population are able to attain a bachelor’s degree,” he said.
According to him, the number of university graduates in Indonesia remains at around 6 to 7 percent of the total population. This indicates that the graduates belong to a group with a significant opportunity to make a tangible impact on society.

He reinforced the message previously conveyed by the rector regarding the importance of integrity. This value is considered fundamental for every graduate to possess as they embark on their professional careers.
“Integrity is a precious quality, and it must be reflected in one’s moral standards, honesty, and everyday conduct,” he emphasised.
Furthermore, he reminded the graduates that they would face increasingly complex global dynamics, including shifts in the world’s geopolitical order. These conditions demand readiness to think strategically and the ability to adapt to various changes.
“The current global situation demands that we are able to read the changes and respond to them with the right steps,” he explained.

He also emphasised the importance of collaboration and synergy in the face of increasingly fierce competition. In his view, success is determined not only by individual ability, but also by the ability to work together within an ecosystem.
“In the future, those who will survive and thrive are those who can adapt and build collaborations with various parties,” he concluded (andhiko ta)
