Rabu, 03 Juli 2024

Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) has once again achieved global recognition.
The Times Higher Education (THE) organisation has released its rankings of the worlds best universities based on 17 points from the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for THE Impact Rankings 2024.
Out of the 44 top Indonesian universities, 22 are private institutions. Universitas Indo Global Mandiri emerged as the best private university outside Java, ranking 28th in Indonesia and falling within the 1001-1500 bracket globally, with a score ranging from 45,0 to 58,7.
THE Impact Rankings are assessed based on several criteria reflecting the 17 SDG points, including poverty, hunger, well-being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, and partnerships. In its sixth year, THE Impact Rankings saw participation from 2,152 universities across 125 countries/regions worldwide.
Each university submitted data to THE regarding their efforts on these points, which were then evaluated through four main indicators: research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching.
Globally, Western Sydney University in Australia topped the SDGs rankings with a total score of 99.7. Nationally, the Unversitas Indonesia (UI) secured the top spot for SDGs, ranking 31st globally with a total score of 93.7.

In 2023, UIGM scored 45.7/100. This year, the score increased by 8% to 49.4/100.
However, we cannot afford to be complacent. This effort must be further enhanced by aligning the work programmes of the various units within IGM with the 17 SDG points, he concluded (andhiko tungga alam/dzulfiqor ammar).
