The collaborative efforts between Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) and the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) are formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).
In an agreement organised by the International Institute for Halal Research and Training (INHART), led by Professor Ts. Dr. Azura Amid as the Dean of INHART, under the leadership of the Rector, Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato' Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, and Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (UIGM) represented by the Vice-Rector for Planning and Cooperation, Professor Dr. Erry Adesta, Ph.D., the signing of this MoA marks a historic milestone in research collaboration.
The MoA focuses on cooperation in research and publications, with the primary goal of submitting grant proposals. Beyond research, this collaboration extends to the development of the halal industry. Both universities unite to unleash the tremendous potential of the halal industry for both Malaysia and Indonesia, with a specific focus on Palembang.
Leading the project will be Ts. Dr. Amal A M Elgharbawy, Head of Research and Innovation at INHART, and Atidira Dwi Hanani. The signing ceremony was led by Ts. Prof. Azura Amid and Dr. Mohamed Shirwan Abdullah Sani, Vice Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Research.
"This signifies a significant step towards closer research collaboration between INHART and UIGM. We hope that this collaboration will bring about substantial developments in research, innovation, and economic growth," said Erry Yulian.
Erry continued, stating that the scope of this collaboration is unique and innovative. Both institutions strive to integrate the concepts of halal, toyyib, and maqasid al-shariah into workplace safety and health practices.
This represents a progressive move in research, aiming to blend profound Islamic principles with modern occupational safety and health standards.
"Through this MoA, we want to produce a number of significant research articles and advance further in collaborative research. We believe that this cooperation will bring immense benefits, not only to both institutions but also to the broader scientific and industrial communities," he concluded.
