Commission X of the House of Representatives visits Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM), Tuesday (7/26/2022).

Both institutions initiated a Focus Group Discussion Problematics in Higher Education with several higher education institutions in Palembang City.

Several essential names participated in the FGD centered in the third-floor hall, Sudirman Campus. From Prof. Dr. Sulbahri Madjir, Prof. Dr. Yuwono, M.Biomed, and Members of The House of Representatives Commission X, H Mustafa Kamal, S.S, and other higher education institutions.

Vice-Rector for Planning and Cooperation of Universitas IGM, Prof. Erry Yulian T Adesta, Ph.D., emphasized that Indonesia must have a specific strategy for the advancement of education in Indonesia. "Education must be in the front (lead) for Indonesia's young generation. For this reason, we need a good and efficient regulation for the current progress of education, "he explained.

In the FGD, he continued, he had some discussion points, ranging from how to implement the three pillars of higher education, how to implement the concept of an independent campus, how to develop a curriculum and evaluate the independent curriculum, how to develop human capital, lecturers and researchers career development, and how community service is carried out by this university.

Erry said, nowadays many Indonesian young folks are demanding knowledge abroad. This became one of the bridges for the Indonesian government.
