Rabu, 29 November 2023
Students of the Government Science Study Programme, Faculty of Government and Cultural Sciences (FIPB), Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM), held a plenary session simulation.
Students of the programme were invited to experience how to become a legislator who sits and works as a member of the parliament.
According to the lecturer of the Government Science Study Programme at Universitas IGM, M. Quranul Karim, S.IP., M.Si, this simulation is a practicum from the Legislative process course, a hallmark of the UIGM government science study programme which has been carried out regularly since 2019.
He said that the trial simulation is important to make students understand the techniques in conducting formal trials.
During the simulation, students must be able to practice trial techniques, argue, debate, and make choices in the trial, "The Department of IP is very serious in achieving the profile of graduates, one of which is to become politicians, where in semester 2 there are courses in Constitutional Law, semester 3 courses in Legislative Process, and semester 5 courses in Parliamentary Studies, we also encourage internships to political parties and study directly at the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) to really foster the ability of students to become politicians in the DPRD," he explained.
Students were enthusiastic about the simulation and stayed until the end of the trial process. "Students are interested in innovative learning approaches such as trial simulations related to the draft regional regulation on efficient public transport development," he concluded.
