The Faculty of Economics at Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) has undertaken a Community Service (PKM) initiative as part of its commitment to the educational mission in Indonesia.
In this PKM initiative, the Faculty of Economics collaborates with MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) nurtured by Rumah BUMN Sumsel, focusing on digital financial literacy. Try Wulandari, S.E., M.Fin, Head of the BKABK Student Affairs Division at Universitas IGM, stated that this PKM is considered crucial because many MSMEs assisted by Rumah BUMN lack proper financial statements due to a lack of understanding of financial statement preparation, leading to an unclear understanding of their business's financial position.
Wulandari elaborated that the participating Economics lecturers in the activity include Budi Setiawan, S.E., M.M, PhD; Emilda, S.E., M.B.A., CFP; Try Wulandari, S.E., M.Fin, CFP; Leriza Desitama A., S.E., M.Acc., Ak., CA., ASEAN CPA; Mutiara Kemala Ratu, S.E., M.S., Ak.; and Meilin Veronica, S.E., M.M.
Wulandari noted that during the PKM, the Faculty of Economics formed a team to provide education on financial literacy, introduction to, and practical experience in preparing profit and loss financial statements and the financial position of MSMEs. Universitas IGM intentionally collaborates with Rumah BUMN as a demonstration of PT Pusri's concern for MSMEs. Rumah BUMN Sumsel, formerly known as Rumah Kreatif Pusri, serves as a collaboration platform for MSMEs, fostering a Digital Economy Ecosystem through training to enhance the capacity and capability of MSMEs.
"It is our hope that this PKM will enhance understanding of the impact of inflation on production costs and consumer purchasing power, which in turn can affect businesses. It will also help increase business capacity by providing knowledge on accessing alternative funding sources and enable MSMEs to prepare accurate financial statements," she concluded.
