The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology is encouraging the establishment of regional vocational coordination teams to improve the role of Course and Training Institutions (LKPs).
Vocational education and training are important to welcome Golden Indonesia 2045. Kiki Yuliati, Director General of Vocational Education at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, considers the need for harmony and synergy in developing Course and Training Institutions at the central and regional levels.
She also encouraged local governments (pemda) in the district/city to provide training for LKPs involving the Business Community, the Industrial Community, the Work Community (Dudika), partner organizations (ormit), and related agencies. We hope there can be coordination and policy synergy between the central government and local governments as a strategic step in developing LKP, she said in a press release on Wednesday (15/3/2023).
The program held on 15 March 2023 also aimed to enhance the participant's understanding of the implementation of Law No. 23/2014 on Local Government, especially in the framework of coaching LKP conducted by local governments and partner organizations.
In addition, it is also to improve awareness of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 68 of 2022 concerning the Revitalization of Vocational Education and Vocational Training. With this provision, Kiki hopes that various collaborative initiatives will be born that strengthen vocational education and training in an effort to prepare competent, productive and competitive human capital to face the Golden Indonesia 2045.
Therefore, this activity discussed several agendas, including the evaluation of the Work Proficiency Education (PKK) and Entrepreneurial Proficiency Education (PKW) programs, LKP programs in collaboration and Dudika standards, LKP programs in collaboration with vocational higher education institutions that organize D-1 and D-2 (associations degree), competency test programs, and good practices in the role of local governments in developing LKP.
Kiki added that the strength and development of LKP in Indonesia, it will affect the improvement of the competence of graduates from LKP.
With the formation of the regional vocational coordination team, she believes it can accelerate the role of relevant policymakers to develop the LKP development program without removing the functions of each institution that has been running so far.(andhiko tungga alam/REL/dzulfiqor ammar)
