Light Rail Transit (LRT) has become a public service object that the Government Science Study Program of the Faculty of Government and Culture Sciences (FIPB) of Universitas Indo Global Mandiri (IGM) focuses on.

Dozens of IP Study Program students, took an outdoor study tour to the LRT by trying out the mass transportation directly, Wednesday (29/11). Lecturer in Government Communication Course, Dr (C) Isabella, S.IP, M.Si said, this tour study was an effort to support the Independent Campus Freedom to Learn (MBKM) program, and broaden students' understanding of government communication issues, Government Communication course.

She explained that the aim of this activity was to provide practical insights into the implementation of government communication in the field, especially communication related to public services. We want to provide students with an understanding of the function of public service communication and analyse communication strategies and see the impact of the application of communication, especially for LRT passengers, she said.

During the study tour, UIGM IP Study Programme was guided by the South Sumatra LRT Team Indah Yeni Sumiati Ningsih and Muhammad Muzaki at Bumi Sriwijaya LRT Station. On the study tour, the LRT team explained how the service pattern, mechanism, and how they use social media platforms as a socialisation platform for LRT passengers.

After getting an explanation and interacting with questions and answers with prizes, students were invited to take a trip on the LRT with a route from Bumi Sriwijaya Station to DJKA Station and back again to Bumi Sriwijaya Station. During the trip on the LRT, students were also given an explanation of LRT operations and interacted with questions and answers. (andhiko tungga alam/dzulfiqor ammar)
