Bank Mandiri President Director's Scientific Oration: Future Leaders Must Have Global Competitiveness

Senin, 28 April 2025

President Director of PT Bank Mandiri, Darmawan Junaidi, gave a scientific oration at the XXI Open Senate Session of Indo Global Mandiri University (IGM), Saturday (26/4).
In his oration entitled Forging Future Leaders With Global Edge, Darmawan invited all graduates to be ready to face the future as leaders who excel and have global competitiveness.
He emphasized that being a leader is inseparable from the great challenges that must be faced and won, especially in the context of increasing global competition.
According to him, competition is not only between organizations, but also between individuals. Therefore, every future leader must be able to bring their organization to answer every challenge of the times.
A leader is not only present to lead, but must also be able to deliver the demands and expectations that come from the environment and the times, he said.
He said that being a leader means continuing to move forward and never being satisfied with the achievements that have been made.
In the speech, Darmawan also reminded the importance of exploring and honing one's potential. We must not be satisfied or complacent. Keep pursuing your talent, he said.
He emphasized that humans are creatures that continue to develop, and educational institutions play a major role in shaping humans who are aware of their potential and able to adapt to change.
Passion, according to him, is one of the main determinants in shaping the quality of superior human resources.
Darmawan also encourages graduates to dare to get out of their comfort zone. According to him, the courage to face new things is the main key in achieving personal and professional growth.
The challenges of the times cannot be answered with a stagnant attitude, but with innovation and a willingness to continue to develop. The world is constantly changing and only those who are ready to change will be able to survive and lead, he concluded. (andhiko ta/Saptamh)
