The Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Study Program at the Faculty of Engineering, Indo Global Mandiri University (IGM) commemorates National K3 Month.
In 2025, the commemoration took the theme, Extinguish Fire Calmly and Precisely. This activity is a form of commitment in commemorating the importance of occupational safety and health (K3) in the campus environment.
K3 Development and Licensing Officer of PT Pusri Palembang, Sri Arinda, M.KKK, and Assistant Shift Supervisor of PT Pusri Palembang, M. Ghazi Firastian were the speakers in the seminar. Both gave insights on the application of safety principles in industry and education.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, IGM University, Dr. Eng. Utari Sriwijaya Minaka, S.T., M.Eng, when opening the activity assessed that this activity provided a deeper understanding of work safety, both in the campus environment and in the professional world later. This event is a place to strengthen work safety culture that must be applied with full awareness, not only in education, but also in industry, she said.
On this occasion, PT Pusri Palembang also actively participated as a realization of strategic collaboration between industry and academia. The company's participation is expected to have a positive impact in building a better understanding and application of work safety principles, both on campus and in the industrial environment.
The Head of K3 Department of IGM University, Avicenna, also emphasized that National K3 Month is a momentum that is always commemorated annually as a form of commitment to creating a stronger safety culture. We hope that with this event, students can better understand the importance of safety at work, and it will carry over until they go directly to the industrial world, he concluded.
